Nita Moon Obituary

Nita O. Moon, 96, of Kahoka, Missouri, formerly of Macomb passed away at 5:50 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.
She was born on April 19, 1926 in Industry Township, McDonough County to Orlando and Phoeba Hayes Toland. She married first married Howard Black on November 28, 1946. On May 28, 1974 she married John G. Eden in West Burlington, Iowa. He passed away on November 4, 1982. She then married Howard Moon on April 17, 2002. He passed away on March 16, 2009.
She was also preceded in death her parents; one son, Scott Lynn Black; one step-daughter, Judy Moon Murphy; one step-grandson, Zach Eden and two brothers, Cline and Clyde Toland.
Nita is survived by two sons, William A. “Bill” (Kathy) Black of Industry and Rex Eugene (Graciela) Black of Moberly, Missouri; one daughter, Susan (Joe) Black Thomson of Kahoka, Missouri; one step-son, Darrell (Sue) Eden of Burlington, Iowa, one step-daughter, Marty Moon King of Chapin, South Carolina and their grandchildren; nine grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Nita lived in Sciota from 1946 to 1974. She then lived in Amarillo, Texas from 1974 to 1982. From 1982 to 2002, she lived in Burlington, Iowa before moving to Macomb. She worked as a secretary for Mason & Hangar-Silas Mason Company in West Burlington, Iowa and Amarillo, Texas from 1953 until her retirement in 1990. She is a member of the Maple Avenue Christian Church.
She enjoyed her retired years enjoying her children, grandchildren and the 29 great-grandchildren and working outsiide caring for a big yard and 75 foot brick sidewalk.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb with Chris Thomson officiating. Visitation will be held from Noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Lamoine Christian Service Camp or charity of the donor’s choice.
