Carol Ann Knowles

Carol Ann Knowles , age 78, of Colchester, passed away at 1:10 PM on Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a brave, 40-day battle with COVID-19. 
She was born on August 8, 1943 in Colchester the daughter of Elmer and Pauline Swanson Fosdyck. She married Henry Knowles on December 15, 1967 in Colchester. He survives. 
She is also survived by one son, Paul (Amy) Knowles of Michigan City, Indiana; one daughter, Sara Knowles of Windsor, Maine; two grandchildren, Thomas Knowles and Bethany Knowles both of Michigan City, Indiana; one sister, Saundra Bollinger of Colchester; one brother, Charles (Cheryl) Fosdyck of Macomb; a half brother, Mike Fosdyck of Bushnell and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Howard Eugene Fosdyck and Richard Fosdyck.
Carol had lived all of her married life with her best friend and loving husband in Colchester. She had worked at Haeger Pottery for several years and later worked as a cook at the grade school in Colchester before her retirement. 
For over three decades, Carol was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colchester and very much enjoyed her church family. Carol’s generosity, devotion and unconditional love will endure in those mourning her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Colchester. Pastor Caleb Sparrow will officiate. Burial will be at the Mount Auburn Cemetery in Colchester. Visitation will be held  from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
