Charles A. Thompson

Chuck Thompson passed away at home on June 1, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1960 to Lloyd and Dorothy (Burford) Thompson of Blandinsville, Illinois.
He grew up in Blandinsville and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1978. After graduation, he relocated to the Atlanta, Georgia, area and worked for Lewellen Construction until his retirement.
Chuck is survived by his daughter, Shayna; grandson, Greyson; and sisters,, Beth (Kerry) Gebhardt, Susan (Jim) Walton, and Donna (Neal) Ford. He was preceded by his parents; sister, Barbara; brother, Lloyd (JR); and brother-in-law, Jim.
Chuck was a lifelong fan of he St. Louis Cardinals, the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and watching any sport he could find on TV. Even though he enjoyed playing golf, it wasn’t a good idea to let him drive the cart.
Chuck never met a stranger but, if you were a friend, you held a special place in his heart. He will be remembered and missed by many.
A Celebration of Life for Chuck will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Twin Oaks Country Club in Blandinsville from 3 to 5 p.m.
