Cora May Grimm

Cora M. (Derry) Grimm, 90, of Industry passed away at 6:05 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Schuyler County on February 17, 1932 to Ivan and Ina Campbell Derry. She married Edward Grimm on October 30, 1962 in Rushville. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; special friend, Clyde Janssen and siblings; Ivan (Junior), Richard, Lavera, George, David, Stanley and Kermit.
She is survived by her children; Donald (Sara) Agans of Missouri, Nancy (Derby) Tompkins of North Carolina; Lena Grimm of Brooklyn and Edwin (Janell) Grimm of Industry; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchild; brothers, Arthur (Millie) Derry of Augusta and Carl (Wanda) Derry of North Carolina, and many nieces and nephews.
Cora began working as a CNA when she was 18 years old at Bellview Sanitarium near Stuart, Illinois. After it closed she returned to Schuyler County area where she worked at area nursing homes and doing  private sitting until she retired from the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
Her hobbies included collecting antique glassware, ceramics, sewing and embroidery work. She learned embroidery from her Grandma Derry at the age of 13 years. It became a life long passion that she perfected, gifting her children, family and friends with many of her works over her lifetime.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vance Cemetery east of Industry. Rex Featherlin will officiate.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 9, 2022  from 5 to 7p.m. at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
The family requests no flowers per Cora’s wishes.
