Darrell Louis Badord. 82, of Blandinsville passed away at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on August 30, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana to Louis and Clara Heiger Badord. He married Nancy Carey on June 2, 1961 in Quincy. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Michele Shannon of St. Charles, Missouri and Laura Huff of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Nathan Shannon, Nolan Shannon, Danielle (Tyler) Yentes and Amanda (Steven) Strantz; three great-grandchildren, Emma Yentes, Rylee Yentes and Olivia Strantz; one niece, Gail (Dale) Miller; one great-niece and one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Newberry.
Darrell lived in Mendon from 1961 to 1973. He moved to Blandinsville in 1973. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1959. He was stationed in Germany.
He owned and operated Badord Tax and Accounting. He was the golf course superintendent at Twin Oaks Golf Course in Blandinsville for over 30 years.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb with Father Adam Stimpson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Catholic Charities.
