David Henry Ruebush, III, of Blandinsville passed away at 9:32 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb.
He was born on October 24, 1945 in Macomb to David Henry II and Betty Stewart Ruebush. He married Sue Ellertson on July 25, 1969 in Aurora, Illinois. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bob Ruebush of Topeka, Kansas and John (Jill) Ruebush of Normal, Illinois; two granddaughters, Abby Ruebush and Emma Ruebush both of Normal; two sisters, Susan Duda of Chicago and Sarah Ruebush of Kansas City, Kansas and one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
David lived and farmed in McDonough County most of his life. He moved to Blandinsville in 1978. He was a graduate of WIU Lab School in 1963 and University of Illinois in 1967. He is a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He served as president of Northwestern School District #175. He was president of Sciota Farmer’s Elevator for many years.
Private grave side services will be held in Good Hope Cemetery with Reverend Dan Lybarger. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Blandinsville-Hire Fire and Rescue Squad.
