Delores A. “Shorty” Barnes, 67, of Macomb passed away at 5:38 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at her residence.

She was born on March 21, 1957 in Macomb to Clifford S. and Mary Martha Ford Wilson.

She is survived by her fiancé, Keith “Butch” Heinrich of Macomb; three granddaughters, Ashley Prather, Brittany (Wallace Zimmerman, Jr) Prather and Heather (Jake) Fitzjarrald, all of Macomb; One great-granddaughter; one brother, David J. (Rosanna) Wilson of Keizer, Oregon; one sister, Georgia (Roger) Abernathy of Bushnell; several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Gloria Burton of Missouri. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Amanda “Mandy” Barnes-Switzer; three sisters, Linda R. Howard, Mary Evelyn Wilson and Brenda R. Miller; one brother-in-law, and twin nieces.
Shorty grew up in rural Industry. She moved to Macomb and then moved to Iowa where she spent most of her adult life. She came back to Macomb a few years ago to care for her sister, Linda.
She was the manager of Renfros in Wilton, Iowa for many years and also worked at the Wooden Nickel, Louis Rich and Hon. She was an avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Grave side services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb and a Celebration of Life will follow from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Macomb VFW.
