Donald Olson Obituary

Donald Max Olson, 81, of Macomb, formerly of Grundy County passed away at 6:40 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1941 in Macomb to Max and Nell Dorethy Olson. He married Judy Reid Davis on February 14, 2016 in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Terry (Sandra) Olson of Inlet Beach, Florida, Debbie Olson of Ottawa, Illinois, Nate (Michelle) Olson of Minooka, Illinois, Nichole (Joshua) Payne of Springfield, Illinois, Jonathan (Erin) Olson of Morris, Illinois and Blake Olson of Marseilles, Illinois; 15 grandchildren with one on the way; 5 great-grandchildren and one brother, Larry (Lou Ann) Olson of Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ronald Olson and one grandson, Daniel Payne.
Donald lived in Grundy County for 70+ years before returning to Macomb. He worked in the family automotive and transportation business, which was started in Mazon, since he was a teenager in and around Grundy County.
He served as Village President for Mazon for 16 years, and was a member of the Grundy County Board for several years and the Macomb Assembly of God Church
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Macomb Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Williams officiating.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris, Illinois.
Private interment of ashes will be held at a later date at the Mazon-Brookshire Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
