Dorla Irene Harman , age 88, of Industry, Illinois, passed away at 2:45 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on January 29, 1934 in Industry Township, McDonough County Illinois, the daughter of John and Florence Sharpe Heaton. She married David Harmon on June 3, 1955 in Plymouth, Illinois . He preceded her in death on September 2, 2016.
She is survived by four sons, Ernest Harman of Galesburg, Clinton (Michelle) Harman of Plymouth, Gary Harmam of New Jersey, and Travis (Hattie) Harman of Philadelphia; one daughter, Donna (Richie) Nelson of Colchester; one sister, Betty Kost of Colchester; 10 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother Larry Heaton, and four sisters.
Dorla had lived most of her life in the Industry area she was a former member of Tops and Home Extension. She had worked as a waitress for several area Industry and Macomb restaurants before her retirement.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. July 8, 2022 at the Industry
Cemetery, with Pastor Robert Greene officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration. Clugston – Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of the arrangements.
