George F. Parsano, 92, of Good Hope passsed away at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2023 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on February 7, 1931 in Ray, Illinois to Harold and Pauline Stroops Parsano. He married Helen Stephen on June 30, 1957 in Virginia. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Teresa Powell of Good Hope; two sons, Marty Parsano of Good Hope and Russell (Shirley) Parsano of LaHarpe; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Lou Belville and Marge Rutledge; one grandchildren, Rusty Parsano and one great-grandchild; Matthew Bible in infancy.
George has lived in Good Hope since 1977. He first farmed and then worked at Haeger Pottery. He was a Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean War.
He coached little league, showed sheep and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Vermont Cemetery with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating where military rites will be conducted by the Illinois National Guard. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Fire and Rescue Squad.
