Gerald Lee Shoemate

Gerald Lee Shoemate, 70, of Blandinsville passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, September 22, 2024 at his home.
He was born on August 14, 1954 in LaHarpe to Emery and Rose Sly Shoemate.
He is survived by half sister, Dorothy Wisslead and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two half brothers, James McPeak and Kenny McPeak and two half-sisters, Donna Owsley and Myrna Kaegi.
He lived all his life in Blandinsville. He was a graduate of Northwestern High School. He worked for Nabisco until his retirement.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial of ashes will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery.
Memorials may be made the Blandinsville Veteran’s Memorial.
