James C. Olson Obituary

Jim Olson, age 79, passed away at 7:37 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11,2026 at his home surrounded by his family, after a long, brave battle with cancer. He was born on March 31,1946 in Macomb, Ill, the son of James and Helen Duncan Olson.


He first married Vicky Coplan and they had two children, Terri (Scott) Dawson and Debi (Steve) Bryant. He later married. Wendy Sights and they had one child, Dillon Olson. Jim has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Judy Woodside and Janet (Rodger) Thompson.


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Jim graduated from Macomb High School in 1964 and has lived in Blandinsville for 31 years. Jim was very proud of his military service and served in the US Army from 1965 until 1967. He was stationed at Kitzinger Army Airfield in Germany. Jim worked at NTN Bower from 1967 until 2009 when he retired. He loved taking trips to Branson, MO, antique and craft shops and Dairy Queen.


Cremation rights have been accorded, Memorial Services will be held at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Aaron Baker will officiate. Following the services full military rights will be conducted by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb VFW on the Funeral Home lawn.


Memorials may be made to MDH Hospice of HSMC New Animal Shelter.
