Jose Louis Zarate

Jose Luis Zarate, 34, of Macomb passed away at 6:21 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. 
He was born on March 17, 1987 in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico to Angel Zarate and Rosa Rodriguez Prado Escoto. He married Maria Bermudez. She survives.
Also surviving his daughters, Tania Zarate Bermudez of Macomb and Ketzaly Zarate Bermudez of Macomb; one son, Cristian Zarate Bermudez; his parents, Angel Zarate Escoto and Rosa Rodriguez Prado and five sisters and four brothers.
He was preceded in death his grandparents; one brother and two siblings in infancy.
Jose has lived in the United States for 17 years. He was the owner and chef at Los Tapatios Mexican Restaurant in Macomb. He is a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb with Father Tim Hepner officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.. Friday, February 11, 2022 at the church and also from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2022 at the church.
Burial will be held at Cementerio Municipal De Jesus Maria in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico.
