L. Hudson Obituary

Maxine Hudson, of Macomb, Illinois, formerly of Good Hope passed away at 4:44 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Wesley Village Healthcare in Macomb at the age of 95.
Maxine was born on February 20, 1930 to Edwin and Martha Waymack Luster. She married Lyle Hudson August 15, 1948. Lyle preceded Maxine in death on May 24, 2024.
Maxine is survived by three children, Susan Dunseth (Max) of Sciota, Chris Hudson (Stuart) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cindy Phillips (Joe) of Macomb; six grandchildren, Jason (Pam) Dunseth, Jared (Carrie) Dunseth, Tillman (Melissa) Hudson, Karlyn (Mike) Puhl, Eric (Andrea) Riebling, Laura (Bryan) Kenney; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Dorothy Luster; brother-in-law, Dale Settles and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine was a homemaker and farm wife, raising their family, tending to chickens, taking care of a large garden, and spending hours mowing grass and watering her flowers in the summer. She was a skilled seamstress, utilizing her skills while working at the Bridal Shop in Macomb later in life, an avid collector of Tea Leaf dishes and a frequent remoldeler of their 100+year-old farmhouse. Maxine never went to town without her kitchen cleaned, the dishes put away, and dressed in appropriate attire.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Good Hope Cemetery in Good Hope with Pastor Jonathan Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to Maple Avenue Christian Church, Wesley Village or MDH Hospice.
