Lana Lee Turnquist

Lana Lee (Morrell) Turnquist, 74, of Macomb, Illinois passed away at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria from complications of lung cancer.
Lana was born on November 4, 1946 in Macomb to Burdette and Darlene (Waymack) Morrell. She married the love of her life, Doran Turnquist in 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Surviving are her husband, Doran; children, Tracie (Mike) Cawthon of Macomb, Ron (Dana) Gallahue of Nashville, Tennessee, Terri (Kevin) Hare of Macomb, Mike (Carrie) Turnquist of Simpsonville, South Carolina; grandchildren, T.J. Depoy, Courtney Cawthon (Tevin Jordine), Kelsie Cawthon, Kate (Shane) Curry, Brett Murphy, Drake Turnquist and Megan Turnquist; great-grandsons, Carter and Murphy Curry, and very special great-grandson, Beckham DePoy. Also surviving are her sister, Lu Ann (Morrell) Askew of Henderson, Nevada and her brother-in-law, Vincent (Sue) Turnquist of Greenwood, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law, Terry Askew.
She was a lifelong resident of Macomb and graduated from Young’s Beauty School in Macomb in 1970. She owned and operated the Princess Beauty Salon from 1979 until she retired in 2021. Her peers at the salon were her extended family.
In her younger years she played slow pitch softball and was in bowling leagues at College City Bowl. Lana loved her friends and family, especially her grand kids and great-grand kids. With Doran she enjoyed playing Friday nights couples golf league at Gold Hills Golf Course and Saturday date nights at local restaurants, especially the Red Ox. Lana was passionate and took a lot of pride in her yard work.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb  with Larry Adams officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Macomb.
