Obituary

Linda L. McCoy, age 80, of Macomb, passed away at 5:10 AM on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. 
She was born on April 16, 1941 in Los Angeles ,California , the daughter of Dean and Margaret Harvey Bowen. She married Dave McCoy on March 5, 1960. She has lived with her significant other Gary Blansett for the last 30 years.
She is survived by her loving companion Gary Blansett, two daughters Margaret (Todd) Knox of Macomb and Rosemarie (Larry Dunn) McCoy of Blandinsville, Gary’s children Mark (Jessie) Blansett and Julie (Tom) Dorothy, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son David, and one sister Deanna Sellers.
Linda lived her early life in California, and moved to Macomb in the late 1960s. She had worked at Western Illinois University in building services for over 30 years before her retirement. Linda was a three-time Illinois Ladies State Champion in cowboy action shooting, at the Hudsons World Senior Games she was a two-time medalist in cowboy action shooting, and she was also a three-time High Senior Lady at the Missouri State Champion in cowboy action shooting. Linda love to fish, hunt and cook, but her family and friends were the most important things to her.
The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 5 PM until 7 PM at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb . Private family graveside services will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
