Madelyn L Hocker

Madelyn L. Hocker, 96, of Macomb passed away at 3:50 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield.
She was born on February 5, 1928 in Hire Township, McDonough County to Leslie and Lois White Kreps. She married Larry Hocker and later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Leslie Kreps; four sisters, Evelyn Doney, Edith Pursell, Wilma Kelly and Maxine Dark and three brothers, Robert Kreps, Donald Kreps and Floyd Kreps.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Sam) Wilson-McClerren of Auburn, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jeffery Lung, Leslie (Nicholas) Landry and Cara (Ryan Dufner) Shingleton; four great-grandsons, Caleb Nudo, Joshua Nudo, Matthew Nudo and Hunter Shingleton; one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Shingleton; one sister, Marilyn Kreps of Macomb and two brothers, Kenneth Kreps of Florida and Howard Kreps of Colchester.
Madelyn lived in McDonough County all of her life. She worked for A&P Grocery Store for 6 years and then for Kroger Grocery Store for 26 years. She is a member of the Macomb VFW Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb.
