Marion Lee Morrell, 92, of Industry passed away at 4:36 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving heavenly family at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on February 15, 1928 in Industry to Vernon S. and Nancy G. Wilhelm Morrell. He married Myrna Suzanne Myers on August 8, 1959 in Industry. She passed away surrounded by her loving heavenly family on June 13, 2020 at Graham Hospital in Canton.
He was also preceded in death his parents; one daughter in infancy; two grandchildren in infancy; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Burdette Morrell and one sibling in infancy. Two brother-in-laws Roger Myers and Joseph Myers. One sister-in-law Helen Myers.
Marion is survived by four children, Melinda Morrell of Colchester, Marlene (Gary) Nelson of Bushnell, Angela (Rusty Hodges) Hyde of Bushnell and Mark Morrell of Bushnell; nine grandchildren, Benjamin Morrell, Matthew (Afton) Hagler, Avenlee (Adam) Shaw, Abigail Nelson, Michael(Kaitlin) Marshall, Nathaniel (Hannah) Marshall, Victoria Morrell, Rose Morrell and Veronica Morrell; eight great-grandchildren, Alexice Drawyer, Ayden Hagler, Alexis Marshall, Brookelynn Marshall, Owen Marshall, Elena Shaw and Laken Shaw; brother-in-law, Louis Lee (Polly) Myers, Jr of Petersburg, Illinois, sister-in-law Sarah Myers-Curtis and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marion lived all of his life in McDonough County. He worked as a farmer, he built grain bins with his brother, worked at King-Sealy and worked at Western Illinois University for 32 years at the physical plant before his retirement.
Funeral services for Marion and Myrna will be private with Jeff Thayer and Rollie Sarver officiating. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Due to Covid restrictions masks are required and no more than 50 peoples at a time. Interment for both will be at Camp Butler Cemetery in Springfield.
