Martha L. Cross

Martha L. Cross, 93, of Bushnell, formerly of Adair passed away at 3:45 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.

She was born on May 14, 1927 in Mound Township to A. Vere and Nola Havens Reedy. She married Robert E. Cross on January 24, 1945. He passed away on March 29, 2013.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Chad Lafary.

She is survived by one son, Larry (Libby) Cross of Mt. Carmel; two daughters, Lorretta (Charlie) DeRenzy of Bushnell and Lorraine (Jerry) Ladd of Dahinda; 8 grandchildren, Lori (Michael) Bertolozzie, Lynn (Jerry) Wheeler, Larry Cross, Angela (Charles) Bland, Carrie (Ryan) Savage, Melissa (Zach) Anderson, Sarah (Doug) Marvel and Brian (Stacey) Lafary; 1 granddaughter-in-law, Amber Lafary; 2 step-granddaughters, Julie (Mark) Davis and Angie Ladd; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-great grandchildren and one sister, Vera (Gerald) Sears of Industry.

Martha lived most of her life in the Adair and Bushnell areas. She was a member of the former New Salem Christian Church in Adair. She had worked at Montgomery Wards and was a lunch assistant at the Adair Grade School as well as helping her husband on the farm.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Harris Cemetery west of Table Grove with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Bushnell Fire and Rescue Squad.
