Mary Gifford, 96, of Macomb passed away at 3:28 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born on October 26, 1929 in Bluefield West Virginia to Asa and Nellie Smith Elsey. She married Eugene Gifford in 1960. He passed away in 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and four brothers.
Mary is survived by her children, Lynne (Keith) Branham of Macomb, Alan (Tammi) Gifford of Umatilla, Florida and Eric Gifford of Macomb; grandson, Cody Gifford of Umatilla, Florida and one step-granddaughter, Trina Cummings of Raeford, North Carolina.
Mary has lived in Macomb since 2019. She worked as a nurse at a hospital and a doctor’s office. She also worked as a private duty nurse in hospice care. After retiring from Nursing she did medical billing until she was 80.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
