Max Sayers Obituary

Max D. Sayers, 94, of Industry passed away at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on December 1, 1929 in Eldorado Township, McDonough County to Glenn W. and Millicent P. Wells Sayers. He married Barbara Hammond on September 10, 1950. She passed away on July 5, 2014. He then married Sue Hoyle Frakes on December 12, 2019. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cathy (John) McMillan of Macomb; two sons, Mike (Jessica) Sayers of Adair and Brad (Laura) Sayers of Springfield; three grandchildren, Tyler (Jess) Sayers of Forsyth, Illinois, Ashley (Ames) Conant of Hood River, Oregon and Travis Sayers of Shiloh, Illinois; two step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Tim) Ferris of Mukilteo, Washington and Cathryn (Pablo) Ferris of Edwardsville, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Sayers and Wesley Conant and  two step-great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Luke Supakorndej.
Max lived all of his life in the Industry area where he worked as a farmer. He is a member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge and West Prairie Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter and loved taking hiking and camping trips to Glacier National Park.
He was an Air Force veteran serving from 1953 to 1955. 
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2024 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Pastors Jeremy Westlake and Charles Walden officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Monday May 6, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pennington Point Cemetery west of Adair with full military rites being conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.
Memorials may be made to West Prairie Presbyterian Church.
