Millie Cale Obituary

Millie M. Cale, 87, of Macomb passed away at 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at her residence.

She was born on June 12, 1933 in Macomb to Fred E. and Garnet G. Spicer McNeff. She married Mervin F. Cale on March 20, 1953 in Macomb.

She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Wilson of Washington, Illinois; two sons, Steven (Mary Ann) Cale and Bryan Cale, both of Macomb; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Peters of Colchester, Benjamin (Brittany Hunziker) Cale of Fairbanks, Alaska, Samantha Cale of Colchester, Chad Wilson of Colchester, Matthew Wilson of Page, Arizona and Leslie (Chris) Swisher of Page, Arizona and five great-grandchildren, Cameron, Cody and Cael Peters, Haidyn Hunziker and Mickenzy Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father and step-father, Earl H. Barbero.

Millie was a lifelong member of the Macomb Wesley United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School in the kindergarten department for many years. She graduated from Macomb High School and attended Western Illinois University. She worked at the Andes Candies lunch counter, then became a homemaker and raised three children. Later in life she became a union painter, working construction sites throughout the state. She also worked at Western Illinois University as a painter until her retirement in 1998.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Due to COVID restrictions, masks are required. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.

Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
