Richard E. Hainline, 88, of Macomb passed away at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
He was born on November 8, 1934 in Sciota to Harmon and Ester Butterfield Hainline. He married Mary Ellen Arvin on September 29, 1957 in Macomb. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jay (Michelle) Hainline of Colchester; three nieces and several nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter, Sue Ellen Hainline; one brother, Michael Hainline and two sisters, Connie Royer and Lorraine Wilcox.
Richard lived all of his life in McDonough County and was a Macomb City Firefighter for 26 years retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Macomb Masonic Lodge #17, First Baptist Church in Macomb and the Macomb American Legion. He served in the United States Army in Germany from 1954 to 1956.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Claudia McCain officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Masonic services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Macomb Masonic Lodge #17 or the First Baptist Church in Macomb.
