On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Richard Miller, age 73, of Colchester, Illinois, passed away at his home.
He was born on July 27, 1947 in Avon, Illinois to Robert E. and Opal O. Ostrander Miller. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Black on January 20, 1979.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Miller, his parents and his brother, Raymond Ostrander.
Richard is survived by his children, Amber Nicole Miller of Plymouth and William "Will" Miller of Colchester; grandson, Jared Hale of Beardstown; his sister, Diana (Jim) Mason of El Dorado, Arkansas; sister-in-law, May Ostrander of Petersburg and brother-in-law, Al (Vicki) Black of Colchester; a special nephew, Danny Ostrander of Macomb; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his two yorkies, Rascal and Abby.
He was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. After serving his country, he worked and loved his job as an over the road truck driver for 15 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to watch NASCAR.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb with Pastor Bennett Woods officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. The family will not be present. Cremation rites will follow the visitation.
