Richard E. "Dick" Whited, 85, of Colchester passed away at2:11 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.

He was born on September 14, 1935 in Peoria to Henry and Laura Collins Whited. He married Shirley Jean Keim on January 8, 1955. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Debi Conlin of Macomb; one son, Randy (Anne) Whited of Blandinsville; four grandchildren, Mindy (Sam) Whited Clegg of Bushnell, Spencer (Katie) Conlin of Macomb, Tiffany (Zach) Lotz of Bettendorf, Iowa and Matthew (Whitney Sullivan) Whited of Macomb; four great-grandchildren, Jevani and Jeightlin Sickels and Rowen and Charlotte Lotz; one sister-in-law, Kathy Dietsch of Henderson, Nevada and four nieces and one nephew. He also has Laci (Thomas) Todd, Allison (Mitch) Housewright and Zac Powell whom he considered his grandchildren

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lois Thurman, Helen Lightfoot and Shirley Casper; two nephews and one brother-in-law, Doyle Dietsch.

Dick moved to Colchester in 1965 where he owned Colchester Ready Mix from 1965 to 1980. He then worked for Manhattan Coffee for many years before his retirement.

He was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge, Macomb American Legion, Macomb Gun Club and Farmington Moose Club. He was a former member of the Macomb Eagles Club and Gold Hills Golf Course. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

Private graveside services will be held at Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden with full military rites being conducted by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Macomb Masonic Lodge.
