Robert David Henry

Robert David Henry, 93, of Macomb passed away at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021.
He was born on August 25, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to Irvin C. and Ruth Sharrer Henry. He married Alice Rose Scott on June 1, 1975 in Warsaw, Illinois. She survives.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marjorie Louise Henry.
Following his graduation from high school, Robert served in the Army Air Corps in France as a B-17 mechanic. After his service, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Ohio State University in Agricultural Plant Science. He received his Master’s Degree in Botany from the University of Illinois and his PhD in Angiosperm Morphology from the Ohio State University.
Robert moved to Macomb in 1960 where he was a Professor of Biological Sciences at Western Illinois University for 33 years, retiring in 1993.
He loved his cats, enjoyed swimming, trains and Botanizing.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
