Robert L. "Rob" Wheeler, 61, of Macomb passed away at 11:49 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on April 24, 1959 in Macomb to Robert and Kay Morrow Wheeler.

He is survived by his mother, Kay Wheeler of Macomb; his sister, Ruth (Brian) Hinman of Macomb; one niece, Mary (Joel) Foulk of Macomb; one nephew, Scott (Kristyn) Hinman of Adair; one great-nephew, Kasen Hinman and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Rob was a lifelong resident of McDonough County and graduated from Macomb High School in 1977. He worked 20 years at Zeta, followed by several more driving a semi for Western Illinois Grain. He later drove a bus for Go West. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Macomb. Rob enjoyed his family and meeting new people. He was happy to help whenever asked. He loved practical jokes and giving people a hard time.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Pennington Point Cemetery west of Adair. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Macomb Church of Christ.
