Roberta Baumgardner Powell Obituary

Roberta L. Baumgardner Powell, 79, of Macomb passed away at 9:09 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
She was born on May 31, 1942 in Macomb to Raymond and Leila Thurman Brown. She first married Howard Baumgardner on June 18, 1961. He passed away on December 31, 2018. She then married Mike Powell on June 17, 2019. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stacy Jo (Rod) Wilson of Table Grove and Angela Sue (Gregg) Smock of Bethalto; Mike’s children, Toby (Marie) Powell of Indianapolis, Indiana and Cindy (Troy) Forman of Columbus, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Trent (Alicia Livdahl) Wilson, Kelsey (Brad) Baxter, Kirsta (Eric) Anderson, Gabrielle (Chris) Barnes, Samantha Smock, Reghan (Zack Catherall) Smock and Elijah Smock; Mike’s grandson, Wade Forman; six great-grandchildren, Kailey Baxter, Avilyn Baxter, Dawson Baxter, Haidyn Baxter, Allias Wilson and Emery Anderson; one brother, Roger Brown and two sisters, Eileen (Amil) Gray and Jan Yoder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Howard Baumgardner; son, Howard “Duck” Baumgardner, Jr; brother, Dan Brown and sister, Marcia Henry.
She was a graduate of Macomb High School and Gem City Business College. She lived in Macomb for years before moving to Missouri. She later moved back to Macomb. She worked at Finn Hosiery, King-Seeley Thermos, Prairie Hill RC&D, Western Illinois University and USDA Research Facility in Linneus, Missouri before her retirement.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Pastor Jon Keck officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at
the funeral home. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery south of Macomb.
