Rodney "Rod" Rouse Obituary

Rodney L. “Rod” Rouse, 66, of Macomb passed away at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
He was born on October 17, 1954 in Macomb to Gorden and Barbara Norris Rouse. He married Rita Chockley on August 1, 1986. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Barbara Rouse Hoyt of Macomb; one daughter, Rianne Idstein of Wheaton; one step-daughter, Erica Miller of Mt. Zion; four grandchildren, Caitlin Idstein, Lauren Idstein, Brandon Gaston and Morgan Norato; one brother, Dave (Patty) Rouse of Colchester and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gorden Rouse; one brother, Dan Rouse and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Rod lived in Adair and was a graduate of Taylorville High School. He moved to Macomb in 1972. He was a member of the NRA and Lamoine Ramblers. He received his Order of the Arrow as a Boy Scout. He had worked as the Transportation Manager at Western Illlinois for 30 years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2021 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Eye Bank.
