Ronda K. Wilmot, 75, of Macomb passed away at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
She was born on June 22, 1950 in Macomb to Donald and Norma Chenoweth Wilmot.
She is survived by one son, Royce Wilmot of Eugene, Oregon; a special niece, Jessica (Robert) Perry whom she thought of as a daughter of Castle Rock, Colorado; 8 brothers, Terry (Susan) Wilmot, Larry (Rosalie) Wilmot, Mike Wilmot, Rick (Kim) Brown, Gary (Kathy) Wilmot, Monty (Lori) Wilmot, Steve (Kathy) Wilmot, and Shane Wilmot; 2 sisters, Kathy (Todd) Carithers, and Tina Manning; many nieces, nephews, cousins and two spoiled cats, Chips and Bella whom she loved so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Donna Wilmot.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University in sociology and psychology .She worked at the Macomb Journal as manager in the circulation dept. for many years and later for building services at Western Illinois University before her retirement in 2013. She was very active in the Building Services Union at WIU.
As owner of Willy and Andy’s resturant in Macomb many years ago, she made Thanksgiving dinner for people in need and with no place else to go.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will a Celebration of Life at a later date.
