Ruby Jane Foster, 95, of Galesburg, formerly of Colchester and Macomb passed away at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her residence in Galesburg.
She was born on August 17, 1925 in Avon to Joe and Minnie Jones. She married Omer Volbracht in 1943. He passed away in 1974. She later married Irvin Foster in 1984. He passed away in 2006.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; one sister and one sister in infancy.
Ruby is survived by four sons, Jim (Beth) Vollbracht of Kirkwood, Gene (Vickie) Vollbracht of DeLong, Carl Vollbracht of Monmouth and Dick Vollbracht of Monmouth; one daughter, Connie Heilener of Galesburg; three step-sons, Kenneth Foster of New Orleans, Louisiana, Steve (Brenda) Foster of Bushnell and Ronnie (Jill) Foster of Macomb; one step-daughter-in-law, Alice Foster of Donnelson, Iowa; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Kenneth (Joy) Jones of Galesburg.
Ruby lived in several places including Colchester and Macomb before moving to Galesburg. She worked at the Roseville Nursing Home for three years and later worked at Macomb High School in housekeeping for 13 years. She belonged to the Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Reverend Dan Colvin officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb.
Memorials may be made to the Beacon of Hope Hospice Program.
