Ruby Nell Lindsey, 89, of Industry passed away at 2:37 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb.
She was born on July 26, 1932 in Cordova, Alabama to Willam Raymond and Ruby Pauline Bookout Cooper. She married Earl Lindsey, Jr. on April 19, 1952 in Columbus, Mississippi. He survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Janet Leigh (Ron) Lindsey of Industry, Marchetta A. (Mike) Engel of Quincy, Tina Rae Reed of Macomb and Kimla Kay Lindsey of Bushnell; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and two brothers, Robert (Glenda) Cooper and Virgil (Bonnie) Cooper, both of Alabama.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Christoper M. Engel; one sister, Pat Nations and one brother, Arthur Ray Cooper.
She was a graduate of Cordova High School in Cordova, Alabama. She worked as a secretary at Western Illinois University for many years before her retirement. She enjoyed quilting.
Private graveside services will be held at Vance Cemetery, East of Industry with Pastor Bennett Woods officiating. There will be no visitation.
