Steven R. Willey

Steven Robert Willey, 68, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born
July 10, 1954 in Macomb, Illinois the son of Robert and Sally Willey. Steve spent
his entire life in Industry, Illinois only leaving for college where he earned a
Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University. He married his wife, Donna, on
February 17, 1981 and they were together for 41 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Ty. Steve is survived by his
wife, his two sons (Chad and Mat), his brother (Greg), two grandchildren (Dylan
and Everett), and three great grandchildren (Ava, Ady, and Azai).
After finishing college, Steve returned to Industry to help run the family business,
Willey Oil. Together, with his mother, the company became one the area’s best
known and most trusted agribusinesses providing farmers with seed, fertilizer,
crop nutrients, chemicals, soil testing, diesel, gasoline, oil, and a variety of critical
farm services. Steve sold the business in the late 2000s under the guise of ‘taking
it easy.’ However, he was soon recruited to work as a regional salesman for CADY
Inc. (Tampico, IL) where he was incredibly successful and remained employed
until 2021.
Steve was a dedicated waterfowl hunter maintaining a lifelong membership in
Ducks Unlimited and spending every fall since he was a small boy in either a duck
blind or a goose pit. He traveled throughout the U.S. pursuing his passion and
sometimes joked that he ‘owned half a duck boat out there somewhere.’ He was
also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals taking his children to countless games
throughout his life including a win earlier this year.
Grave side services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Industry Cemetery with Pastor Bennett Woods officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. 
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Steve’s memory to Ducks Unlimited.
