Vada Leota Gray, 98, of Blandinsville, IL passed away on April 30, 2021, at Wesley Village in Macomb, IL.
Vada was born November 29, 1922 to Conway and Ida Lee Vanatta. She attended schools in the Pike County Illinois area. On January 26, 1944 she married Otto B. Gray and they moved to the Colchester/Blandinsville area in 1953. He passed away on April 2, 1997.
Vada worked at a food store in Blandinsville for 5 years and then worked at Eagle Foods in Macomb for 18 years until her retirement.
Survivors include her children Jimmie Con Gray of Blandinsville and Craig (Sally) Gray of Morrison, IL; six grandchildren, Jimmy (Jan) Gray, Michael (Beth) Gray, Robin (Bryan) Hofmeister, Kevin Hobby, Wendy Aggen and Jeffrey Gray. She is also survived by great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter and son in law Carol and Roger Hobby.
Private family graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Gorden Blankenship
officiating. There will be no visitation. The family will gather to greet friends outside at the home of Jordan and Paige Tyson to 705 E. Washington Street, Blandinsville on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Please bring your own lawn chair. Cars may also be parked at Jeff Gray’s at 630 E. Washington. (Cancelled in case of inclement weather)
