W. Leon Sinnett, age 85, of Colchester passed away at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on September 18, 1935, the son of William and Mary Evelyn Harmon Sinnett. He married Roberta Chenoweth in 1960 . Leon later married Evelyn Davis in 1975.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn, two sons; Myron Sinnett of Industry, Illinois, and Mike (Misty Sullender) Sinnett of Florida, one daughter; Marsha (Jack) Brown of Blandinsville, Illinois, one step-son; Mark (Dena) Furniss of Marietta, Illinois, five grandchildren; Brandon (Jen) Smith, David Smith, Mikayla Sinnett, Sawyer Sinnett and Julian Black, six great-grandchildren; Gavin Smith, Zachary Smith, Destiny Smith, Kaylie Smith, Noah Smith and Kayleb Smith and several Step-grandcchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; one daughter, Mindy Sloat and two grandchildren; Douglas Harper and Mitchell Harper.
Leon served in the Army from 1958 to 1960. He lived most of his life in Adair and Colchester.
He was a Foreman at Bowers for 36 years and retired in 2000.
Funeral services will be held at the Clugston – Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lee Unger Officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home in Macomb.
