William K. “Bill” Curtis, 78, of rural Augusta passed away at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 27, 1943 in Macomb to Kenneth M. and Helen M. Nelson Curtis.
Bill is survived by his children, Katherine (Joseph) Mellor of Rushville, SFC Sabrina (MSG (RET) Christopher) Heckel of Missouri, Joseph Curtis of Brooklyn, TSgt (RET) Billy (Debbie) Curtis of Lavaca, Arkansas, Jason (Emileigh Hynek) Grim of Industry and Matthew (Hailey Holt) Curtis of rural Augusta; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and one sister, Sherry Crandall of Hugo, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Barbara Jo Weatherby and one brother, Tom Curtis.
Bill had lived in Macomb and Brooklyn before moving to rural Augusta in 1994. He worked as a laborer working out of Laborer’s Local #231.
He was a member of the Brooklyn United Methodist Church and the Brooklyn Boys.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Brooklyn United Methodist Church with Rex Featherlin officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday August 19, 2022 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial will be in the Blackburn Cemetery near Brooklyn.
